St. John's Young Men Bingo Association, Inc. is a nonprofit charitable organization under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization holding exempt status under IRS section 501(c)(3). The Association is registered with the State Corporation Commission (SCC) as a Virginia Nonstock Corporation and with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs as a charitable organization authorized to solicit funds in the State of Virginia. The association has been in existence for over 30 years and membership in the association consists of the Masonic Brothers from the six Lodges that hold their monthly meetings at 1004 Halifax Street, Petersburg Va.  Those lodges are Pocahontas Lodge #7, Abram Lodge #10, Eureka Lodge #15, Jerusalem Lodge #16, Sheba Lodge #17, and Mt. Nebo Lodge #43.

For the fiscal year ending December 31, 2009, St. John's Young Men Bingo Association, Inc.  made donations for local Charitable, Educational, and Religious purposes of more than $50,000 to approximately 50 organizations.  Some of the local organizations receiving support included the Baptist Children Home of Virginia, Mary Carter Beacon House, C.A.R.E.S., Va. Food Bank, Hopewell/ Prince George Healthy families, Sickle Cell Awareness, C.H.I.P.S., Juvenile Diabetes Association, ALS Association, The Boys and Girls Club, Operation Santa Claus, America Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Southside Va. Emergency Crew, American Cancer Society, VSU Scholarship Fund, VSU Athletics, Petersburg Youth Football, Hawkins-Blowe Youth Council, Salvation Army, local elementary, middle and high schools, and local churches of all denominations.
